As we are able to share our testimonies through this blog format, the Lord has given me a sense of urgency regarding one particular song that he gave me 8 years ago: one year after moving to Crozet, VA. I was taking a walk in Mint Springs Park, serenely situated only 7 minutes from our home. The shady path wound through a wooded hillside bordering a quiet lake; but my spirit was not at rest. Then, as now, the call was going forth from church leaders that we, as a people, needed to humble ourselves, pray, examine our hearts, seek the face of God (that place of deeper intimacy), and repent for whatever sin He would reveal.
As I walked with II Chronicles 7:14 ringing in my ears, God gave me a melody to accompany the words. II Chronicles 7:12-15: “Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: ‘ I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself. When I shut up the heavens, and there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, IF My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, ‘THEN I will hear from HEAVEN, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayers made in this place……’.”
