God is speaking to you and you can hear His voice. He knows you and loves you and will ask you to do things for His kingdom. Are you ready? There is nothing more encouraging.

When I became a Christian in 1984 the Lord told me I was to concentrate on Him for two years and the Holy Spirit would show me how to live as a Christian. That was very encouraging to me. I was an atheist when Jesus showed up in a very dramatic way in my life. I was oddly afraid to find out He was real and relieved at the same time.

God doesn’t always speak to me, or at least I am not always listening. In my 36 years as a Christian He has spoken directly to me often. Today, in the midst of this COVID-19 crisis He asked me to give to a ministry that was setting up a field hospital in Italy. I asked him how much and He told me a figure higher than I had in mind. But as I thought about it it made sense. I had recently received dividends from a stock I owned in that amount and furthermore the Holy Spirit reminded me that I claimed I knew that God was my provider so I needed to believe Him.

So I decided, since it was a larger than average donation, I needed to get a confirmation from Marilyn. So I went outside where she was doing some gardening and told her what I was being lead to do and asked her to confirm the figure without telling her what it was. She looked at me an named it straight off. She said it came to her right away as she began to pray.

It sure made it easier to make that online donation to know that we both heard from God. That’s what I mean by encouragement.
